Refund Policy
Effective and last updated: 21 October 2026
Our general policy is not to offer refunds because we supply digital API services and coding access. However, every refund request is reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This policy does not limit any refund, cancellation or other consumer right that the law gives you.
What this policy covers
This policy covers purchases directly from MagnetAPI.org, including prepaid API Wallet Credit, coding subscriptions, Unlimited Coding time, VIP access and paid gift cards. Your checkout confirmation and the terms accepted when you bought the product also apply. Existing purchases are not retrospectively stripped of their agreed or statutory rights.
Digital services and change-of-mind requests
Providing API responses and making coding access available uses service capacity. Subject to your statutory rights, we do not normally refund purchases simply because you change your mind, stop using the service, select a different model, or do not use all the credit or access time you bought.
- Consumed API credit and used access: successfully supplied usage and access already used are normally not refundable for a change of mind. A suspected billing error or service failure can still be reviewed.
- Unused credit and time: an unused balance or unstarted session does not automatically create a right to cash out. We will consider the specific purchase, delivery, usage and applicable cancellation rights when reviewing a request. Purchased credit remains subject to its agreed terms.
- Promotional benefits: free trial credit, referral rewards and free bonus time are not amounts paid by you and have no cash refund value. This does not reduce any remedy due for the underlying paid purchase.
- Gift cards: please keep the code secure and contact us if you need help with an unused or faulty gift. We review the purchaser’s payment and redemption record; mandatory gift-card and consumer rights continue to apply.
Billing errors and problems with the service
Please tell us about duplicate or unauthorised payments, a paid product that was not delivered, incorrect usage deductions, or a material failure to supply the service as agreed. We will review the payment and relevant service records. Depending on the facts and your legal rights, an appropriate remedy may include correcting a charge, restoring the service, providing service credit, reducing the price, or refunding the relevant payment. Where the law entitles you to a refund, we will not insist on service credit instead.
For generation or connection problems, include a request ID and a redacted error message if available. You do not need to provide private prompts or confidential project files to ask for a review.
Subscriptions and future renewals
A request to stop future renewals and a request to refund an earlier payment are separate matters. Use the cancellation controls provided for your subscription or contact support to stop future renewals. Cancellation normally leaves access available for the paid period shown in your account; it does not automatically refund a prior period. Any statutory early-cancellation or withdrawal right takes priority over that general rule.
Your statutory rights
Nothing in this policy excludes a right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded. This includes applicable protections under South Africa’s Consumer Protection Act and Electronic Communications and Transactions Act, and mandatory protections that apply to consumers in other countries.
Where a statutory cooling-off or withdrawal period applies, you may exercise it within the period provided by law. In some cases, starting a digital service or supplying digital content can affect that right, but only where the legal conditions, including any required express consent and acknowledgement, are actually met. Buying a digital product or reading this policy alone is not a blanket waiver. Any lawful charge for service supplied before withdrawal will be assessed under the applicable rules.
Case-by-case review concerns the facts and any additional goodwill assistance. A refund or other remedy required by law is not dependent on our discretion. You may raise a complaint with an appropriate consumer authority or use other lawful dispute channels.
How to request a review
- Email support@magnetapi.org with the subject “Refund review request”, or open an official support ticket through our Discord support community. Email is available if you do not use Discord.
- Include your registered email or username, order or transaction reference, payment date and amount, the product purchased, and a clear description of the problem. If relevant, add the approximate request time, request ID and redacted error output.
- Tell us whether you are asking to correct a billing error, exercise a statutory cancellation right, stop a renewal, or request a discretionary refund. If you are unsure, describe what happened and we will review it.
We may ask for reasonable information to verify account or payment ownership. Never send passwords, one-time login codes, API keys, full card numbers or card security codes. Please contact us promptly; this does not replace or shorten any legal deadline.
Review and payment handling
We will explain the outcome and any approved remedy. We do not promise that every request will qualify. Any refund is based on the amount actually paid for the affected purchase, including the effect of a checkout discount, rather than the face value of bonus service credit. Mandatory calculation and repayment rules take priority.
Approved refunds are normally returned through the original payment method where supported, after verifying the payer. Payment-provider processing times can vary; statutory refund deadlines still apply. Cryptocurrency transfers cannot simply be reversed, so an approved crypto refund requires an agreed, verified repayment process. We do not charge a blanket refund or review fee or make you surrender a legal right to receive a remedy.
